I persuaded NMSU Pianist-in-Residence William Leland to give the New Mexico premiere on the tuba (!) of John Cage's 4' 33", the score consisting of over four minutes of nothing but rests.  Thank goodness.  The performance was given over KRWG-FM radio.  Since broadcasting silence is prohibited, I provided colour announcing in the style of a racetrack broadcast.  It was a riot!  Thanks, Bill, for being a great sport.  (1976)
