MOUNTING

Photographs are produced on the finest fibre-base gallery paper and dry mounted to a larger archival matte board, providing an attractive white border around the image.  This is referred to as salon mounting.  In general, I do not add a window matte, but it may be added at additional cost.  Usually, I leave window matting for the client to add at his own locale, for frame shoppes offer a wide array of colours and textures from which to choose.

Because of technical mounting considerations, I do furnish window mattes on colour enlargements of 16” by 20” and larger.

FRAMING

Frames I supply are aluminum extrusion type in flat black finish.  The finished product looks like this:

Some images look good and gain more three-dimensional relief when salon-mounted on black matte board.  In this case, I like to finish with a flat silver frame, which looks like this:

To framed enlargements I add an acid-free foamcore backing to provide additional body to the ensemble.  The pertinent information from the back of the matte board is repeated on the face of the foamcore sheet.  [The impertinent information is remanded to the nearest shredder.]

Finally the framed print is provided with a crosswire across the back for convenient plumb-straight hanging.
