Mr. Jackway was expedition chief and loved to show off his many leadership skills.  He once explained how his quest began when he discovered a prospect in an outcropping of schist.  As there were ladies present, I had to tell him that it would be better not to mention schist because it wasn't gneiss, and it is in a vein that may be discovered to be obsidian.  (1974)
