I am pleased to offer for home and office décor, photographic art from my colour and black-and-white portfolios, the fruit of various travels about the United States over the past thirty years and from a visit to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in early 2007. All work originates from 4 by 5 negatives for maximum use of the Zone System, optimum sharpness, tonal gradation and colour saturation. Prints are available in limited editions only and are hand signed and numbered on the photograph. The size of each edition is indicated by a number in brackets, i.e., [ 256 ].
Black-and-White: I employ a traditional wet darkroom for personally hand-made enlargements up to 20 by 24 inches. The 4 by 5 enlarger is furnished with a Zone VI cold light. The printing medium used is Ilford fine art fibre-based paper. Prints are given two separate fixing baths. A 1:20 selenium toning with Perma-Wash solution is followed by a thorough one-hour wash for archival permanence.
Colour: Enlargements are prepared under my supervision at a professional lab. Eleven by fourteen prints are produced on Fuji Crystal Archive Type C paper. Prints of size 16 by 20 inches and larger are produced on Epson Professional Lustre Paper with Epson Ultrachrome Inks. All enlargements are from an original 4 by 5 negative or transparency.
